PA8000-to-CypCut retrofit: machine-specific cabinet survey and replacement plan.

PA8000 machine diagnosis

This machine-specific assessment documents the installed PA8000 cabinet, its wiring condition, encoder types, servo interfaces, safety relay logic and cutting signals. Compatibility is determined from the surveyed machine, never assumed for every PA8000 installation.

  • Photograph and label PA8000 terminals, field wiring, relays and any undocumented modifications.
  • Identify each motor, encoder, limit device and its electrical signal format.
  • Trace laser, gas, height-control and safety circuits through the actual machine cabinet.

Machine-specific replacement architecture

The PA8000 control path is replaced by a maintainable Bochu/CypCut cabinet only after the measured interfaces are engineered. Existing motors or peripheral devices are retained, adapted or replaced according to this individual machine's verified condition.

  • Produce a machine-specific I/O and terminal schedule before panel fabrication.
  • Select drive and feedback adaptations from measured ratings and signal behavior.
  • Rebuild safety and process interlocks with documented reset and fault handling.

Commissioning and production acceptance

Commissioning follows the approved machine wiring schedule, beginning with safe power-up and axis checks. Acceptance demonstrates the agreed PA8000 replacement scope on representative parts and records any interface excluded by the survey.

  • Prove cabinet power sequencing, safety reset and emergency-stop response.
  • Tune axes, height control and process outputs using controlled no-laser tests first.
  • Cut agreed samples and archive parameters, test results and operator training records.

Typical Customer Challenges

01

Limited PA8000 support and undocumented wiring can increase downtime and retrofit risk.

02

Rising maintenance cost and unpredictable downtime

03

Need for higher power, easier operation or current process functions

Retrofit Engineering

Compatibility comes before configuration

Every project requires a machine-specific assessment. Final hardware, software and achievable performance depend on the existing mechanical accuracy, drive system, I/O, electrical cabinet, safety circuit and selected laser power.

A thorough engineering review confirms the retrofit solution is compatible, integrated correctly and sized around the real machine condition and production target.

Selecting the right Bochu control platform

CypCut is a leading Chinese sheet-metal laser cutting software platform. Depending on power, motion architecture and process requirements, a project may use CypCut, CypCutPro or an EtherCAT-based FSCUT8000/HypCut solution.

Match the control platform to the installed laser power, motion architecture, I/O scope and the process control your production requires.

Installed power
Laser source and planned duty cycle
Motion & fieldbus
Existing drives, pulse control or EtherCAT readiness
Required process control
Everyday production, advanced functions or high-power coordination
